Demolition and Recycling Equipment Provider – Amas

Amas is a Swedish company that provides tools and equipment to fields of demolition and recycling. They are located about ten miles west of Stockholm, the capital of Sweden. They have seven employees at the moment. The company is established in 1987. In other words, it is a year younger than Dynaset is. We interviewed Vilgot Mäntynen who works as an after-sales person at Amas.

  • My title is Sales Support, but I’m in charge of spare parts, stock and transportations as well. I also help our sales and I handle all the DYNASET sales.

Amas provides tools and equipment for demolition and recycling companies in Sweden. This includes for example hydraulic breakers, pulverizers, and of course DYNASET equipment.

  • We have products to basically everything in the field of demolition and recycling, sums up Vilgot Mäntynen.

One Recycling Equipment Inquiry as a Starting Point

Amas has been part of the DYNASET Dealer network for over 20 years now. How did the cooperation start in the first place?

  • We researched this, and we actually found the first fax that was sent to Reijo back in 2000. Back then we needed a magnet and that was the starting moment of our cooperation. The magnet which we choose back then was HMAG 900 [DYNASET HMAG Pro Hydraulic Magnet], tells Vilgot Mäntynen.

So, the cooperation started from a very common piece of recycling equipment. Nowadays it is possible to buy anything from the DYNASET lineup through Amas. But what are their most sold DYNASET products?

  • HK 450 [DYNASET HK Hydraulic Piston Compressor] and HPW 200 [DYNASET HPW Hydraulic High Pressure Water Pump] are our most sold DYNASET products at the moment. And different magnets overall are also frequently sold products.

Companies that either produce or equip machines for the demolition and recycling industries are ordinary customers to Amas. Also, end-users of these machines are an important part of their customer base.

Small Size of The Pieces of Equipment Is the Crucial Factor

Vilgot has been working in his current position for three years. He comments on the cooperation with Dynaset as following.

  • We have a good relationship, and we trust DYNASET products. They are actually very good and there are a lot of great benefits for the end-users. They are small and they can be fitted into almost any machine.

Vilgot believes that the small size of DYNASET products is the crucial factor of these products. That also has been the focus of the design. But what is the first DYNASET related customer case that comes to his mind?

  • One of our customers needed something for pipe cleaning around the railways. We started from PPL 200 [DYNASET PPL High Pressure Pipe Cleaning Unit] and the idea ended up to PPL 460. We managed to get it with KPL’s [DYNASET KPL High Pressure Street Washing Unit’s] tanks and a water heating unit [DYNASET WHU Water Heating Unit].

This projects’ final product continued developing by our engineers and a couple of years ago in the DYNASET Dealer Meeting, we introduced a special DYNASET KPL High Pressure Street Washing Unit model that has also a water heater. As a result, it can be used for street washing with hot water.

Because Amas is working on the demolition and recycling industries we had to ask what does Vilgot thinks about the new DYNASET HRVB Hydraulic Recycling Vacuum Bucket?

  • It is an interesting idea. The magnet is really well appreciated out of the field of recycling so this might be a great idea as well.

The HRVB Hydraulic Recycling Vacuum Bucket is indeed meant to complement the DYNASET Recycling equipment lineup.
