Esa Mäntylä is the establisher, owner, and the CEO of a demolition company called Mevaset Oy. Mevaset Oy is a company that specializes in demolition and it is established in 2015. In the beginning, they had one 30-tonne Doosan excavator and Esa was the only operator of the company. But now five years later they have about 20 employees and many different machines for the demolition tasks. Esa Mäntylä also has been involved in the birth of the DYNASET HRVB Hydraulic Recycling Vacuum Bucket.
HRVB Hydraulic Recycling Vacuum Bucket Is the Key to More Efficient Recycling and Smaller Waste-fees
The idea of the HRVB actually started to incubate from an idea of some kind of “trash magnet”. Actually, one of Mevaset’s workers said out loud during one site clean-up that it would be great if such a device exists. Esa thought about the idea for a moment and decided to call Reijo Karppinen, CEO of Dynaset. Together they ate a lunch during which the idea of the trash magnet developed into the idea of DYNASET HRVB Hydraulic Recycling Vacuum Bucket. It was something new and game-changing because the markets did not have such a bucket before the DYNASET HRVB.
But why this new bucket is so disruptive product?
- Most of the materials of demolition sites are recycled but the small pieces of debris are hard to catch with normal buckets and demolition grabs. With the new bucket, it is possible to sort the waste better which means less mixed waste. Because the waste management fee of the mixed waste is much higher than the fee for sorted waste, the bucket is a wise investment. At the same time, the environment thanks because more materials can be recycled explains Esa Mäntylä.

Not Just A Bucket
Contractor companies, like Mevaset, get cost savings because of the versatility of the bucket. The bucket has a connector for an external vacuum hose that is also a useful tool. It also helps the save money on waste management.
- Because of this versatility, we don’t have to use vacuum trucks that much. Vacuum trucks are used in demolition sites for collecting certain waste, like non-recyclable mineral wool. With the bucket and the hose, the mineral wool can be collected without a vacuum truck. When the bucket is full, you can just empty it into the skip of non-recyclable waste. Because the waste-management-fee of this type of waste is very high, it is just wise to separate it from the other types of debris, tells Esa Mäntylä.

So, with the bucket, it is possible to save money because it makes sorting of waste more cost-effective. Now the sorting and the final touch for the demolition site’s lot are done by a bunch of workers via manual work. Also, this aspect is important and Esa tells why.
- The common way to do the final cleaning is to hire a bunch of workers to collect the small debris with a rake and bags. Let’s say we have a demolition site which is medium-sized. It takes like six workers to clean the area in a decent amount of time. With this bucket, the same task can be done with one worker, one bucket, and one excavator. The cost savings are huge.
And how Esa Mäntylä describes DYNASET HRVB Hydraulic Recycling Vacuum Bucket?
- It is just like it should be.
