EP Steel & Machine has made an impressive transition from customer to distributor of Dynaset products. The company’s growth story stems from a deep passion for machinery and hydraulics. We interviewed Eemil Pakarinen, the company’s Managing Director, who opened about the company’s background, its collaboration with Dynaset and its plans for the future.
The beginning and evolution of entrepreneurship
Eemil Pakarinen is a metal entrepreneur in the Savo region and founder of EP Steel & Machine. The company has been operating in Suonenjoki since 2019.
“I started my entrepreneurial career through the NY-Youth Entrepreneurship Program in my vocational school days. In 2018, I won the Finnish championship in the Taitaja competition,” Pakarinen says. In the Taitaja competition, young vocational students compete for Finnish Championship medals in skill categories based on vocational qualifications.
“I studied at the Savo Vocational College as a sheet metal welder and machinist and have gained a wide range of experience in sheet metal and plate work, steel structures, subcontract welding and assembly work,” Pakarinen explains.
Today, EP Steel & Machine offers a comprehensive service, including machine outfitting, maintenance, hydraulic solutions and a flexible service to meet customer needs, with assistance available even in the evenings if required. From customer to dealer
EP Steel & Machine’s transition from customer to dealer was a natural progression in the company’s development. “We have been servicing and installing Dynaset products for a long time, so it was a natural fit to become a distributor,” Pakarinen explains. With the change, the customer base has expanded, and the company’s range of services has become even more diversified.
Customer feedback has been positive. “We have received good feedback about being able to offer more comprehensive solutions and services under one roof. Fast and flexible service is a big plus for us,” Pakarinen says.
Why Dynaset and cooperation with it?
Dynaset’s products have been a natural choice for the company. “Dynaset is the only one that offers the right solutions for our needs. We could build something ourselves, but Dynaset is the best possible partner for us. The connection is already made, and we know we will get the support we need,” Pakarinen says. In addition, Service Specialist Ali Myllymaa has been an important contact and has always been there to help when called.
The cooperation with Dynaset started when EP Steel & Machine was a customer and has deepened with the resale. “We have had good cooperation with Dynaset’s Area Sales Manager Jari Vuorenmaa, for example. Jari has taken care of things, and the service has been really good.” Pakarinen praises.
EP Steel & Machine’s growth and future
The future of EP Steel & Machine looks promising. “Our goal is to serve our customers even better and faster. We want to develop our hydraulic and mechanical engineering services so that we can offer a more comprehensive service package. We don’t keep an eye on the clock – customers get help whenever they need it.” Pakarinen sums up.
Growth plans also include larger halls and more fitters to meet growing demand. As for Dynaset products, Pakarinen sees opportunities for expansion in the partnership.
