Viktor Leppälä
Hi! I’m Viktor Leppälä, a 13-year-old motocross rider. I started riding motocross at the age of three and began competing at a very young age. My international racing journey started in the 50cc class and continued in the 65cc class. In 2020, I became the Finnish 65cc class champion. In 2021, I placed third in the European Championship, becoming the first Finn to ever reach the podium in the final. That year, the Finnish Motorcycle Association honored me with the Junior of the Year award.
The 2022 season began on a high note with a victory in the Finnish junior ice track championship. I also had a strong season in the European Motocross Championship, finishing as the best Finnish rider. At the World Junior Championships in Vantaa, Finland, our team earned a silver medal. I also secured an individual victory in the Coupe de l’Avenir in France, contributing to Finland’s team silver in the juniors category. These achievements were recognized by the Finnish Motorcycle Association, which awarded me the Newcomer of the Year title.
The 2023 season brought its challenges. Technical issues impacted my performance in the ice track races, and in March, I experienced the most serious injury of my career. After a lengthy recovery, I returned to top form in the autumn, competing at the highest level alongside the top European riders in the Coupe de l’Avenir junior team event.
