The Pattern Recognizer Behind the Projects – Project Manager Ville Salonen

June 15, 2026

Dynaset has around 130 employees, and the factory in Ylöjärvi is full of fascinating roles and people. Many of the individuals who keep things moving do their excellent work behind the scenes, so we wanted to highlight them a little more. We’re starting with our Project Manager, Ville Salonen.

When Ville Salonen started as a project manager at Dynaset in the fall of 2025, he brought with him an exceptional background. His career path has included work in the restaurant industry, teaching, and ten years as an escape room entrepreneur. Although the roles have seemed different, Ville sees a common thread in them.

“In all of them, it has been about coordinating people’s work and building collaboration.”

As a project manager, Ville monitors the progress of product development projects and internal development initiatives, facilitates meetings, refines working methods, and helps remove obstacles from projects. His goal is to ensure that projects move forward as smoothly and predictably as possible while fostering collaboration.

Ville describes his strengths as being systematic, having a good understanding of people, and the ability to recognize patterns. As an escape room entrepreneur, he learned to observe how people work together to solve problems—he now applies these same insights to the development of projects and work communities.

In our workplace, Ville is already known for having a control center brimming with assistive technology. He likes to twirl a 3D-printed Oloid between his fingers—it’s fun to watch it spin as he thinks.

“When people talk to each other more and understand the common goal, things usually start to move forward.”

According to Ville, the best kind of workday is one where he has time to look toward the future rather than just reacting to today’s issues. Improving predictability is, in fact, one of the most important goals of his work.

Ultimately, the success of these projects is reflected in new products, faster turnaround times, and better collaboration between departments. That’s why Ville sees his role, above all, as an enabler. Everyone at Dynaset is working toward the same goal, and reminding everyone of this along the way is also part of Ville’s job.

“Dynaset has a huge number of skilled people who want to do their jobs as well as possible. For me, the best part is being able to help ensure that everyone is moving in the same direction within their own areas of expertise.”

In his free time, Ville enjoys technology, video games, music, and concerts, as well as spending time with his family. As a father of three, managing daily life smoothly also requires good planning and a large pot

“I like to cook, and I often make a large batch at once so there’s enough food to last longer. For bigger cooking projects, I got a 12-liter pot. That’s plenty.”

So you could say that at home, Ville stirs up soups, while at work he brings order to the day.
