The Finnish loader and attachment manufacturer Avant Tecno, better known as Avant, manufactures 5700 compact loaders per year, of which 85% are exported. In addition to the factory in Ylöjärvi, Avant has three sales companies, which are located in the United Kingdom, Germany, and the United States. The company has dealers in more than 60 countries. The company has a turnover of 170 M€ and 270 employees. Cooperation with Dynaset began in the 90s.

The Seven Series of Models Covers Multiple Industries

Avant manufactures several sizes of compact loaders. The 200 series represents the smallest ones, which are suitable for personal use at private homes, and the largest, 800 series, for professional use in property maintenance. In between, there are several different model series that cover a vast range of industries, such as landscaping, agriculture, construction, and demolition. Initially, Avant started manufacturing compact loaders for agricultural use, but today, landscaping has become the most significant industry for the company.

Wide Range of Attachments and Ease of Use are Significant Competitive Advantages

Avant differs from its competitors due to, among other things, a wide range of attachments. Thanks to the attachments, customers can perform several different tasks. Attachments already account for 25% of total sales.

Sourcing Category Manager Tero Kallioharju is responsible for purchasing Avant Tecno’s attachments. According to him, the company offers more than 200 different attachments, providing added value to the customer. One Avant with attachments enables performing multiple tasks.

“In property maintenance, snow plows, snowplows, and sand spreaders are actively used in winter. Lawnmowers and street washing units are used during the spring and summer. Snow plows and pallet forks have the highest sales volumes of all the attachments,” says Kallioharju.

Avant attachments are easy to connect on a loader with a quick attachment plate. Electricity and hydraulics are easy to connect with a single quick coupling, after which the attachment is ready. This applies also to high-pressure street washing units manufactured by Dynaset for Avant.

“Ease of use is very important to us. Dynaset-Avant compatibility have been tested and fitted at our factory. We offer factory-defined street washing unit models and therefore, the customer can always be sure of the compatibility between the street washing unit and the compact loader. Getting started is easy for the customers and they can start working instantly,” says Kallioharju.

One important feature is steering from the front frame, where the operator is aligned with the attachment and has a better view of the work. Dynaset High Pressure Street Washing Units are compact and do not block the field of view. When complemented with hydraulically or electrically controlled washing pipe, the work is done with unprecedented accuracy. High-pressure washing guarantees deep-clean results.

Seamless Cooperation

The collaboration between the companies dates back to the 90s as Dynaset began to manufacture hydraulic generators and valve systems for Avant. They added hydraulic compressors and street washing units to their selection later. Today, street washing units are the best-selling Dynaset-made products for Avant.

The cooperation between Avant and Dynaset is going very well. The delivery reliability and quality of Dynaset products are at a great level. Cooperation with Dynaset enables Avant to get attachments to its selection which otherwise would be difficult to develop, and which add value to the customer. Avant is constantly praised by its customers for the availability of spare parts. It is at a good level even for older machines and equipment.

“Cooperation with the spare parts works with Dynaset on an equal footing. Sometimes we might need even exotic spare parts if, for example, the customer has had a little accident while working with the machinery. We have also received those spare parts quickly. Dynaset has a fast and flexible way to operate, which suits well with Avant,” Kallioharju describes the cooperation.

According to Kallioharju, physical proximity (about 2 km) also helps to advance things together since it is easy to arrange meetings, etc. Flexibility helps with product development and procurement. The future looks good for both companies. Businesses are growing fast, and there is plenty of demand for street washing units.
