Summer is not over yet

So sings a well-known Finnish summer song. It’s time to return from summer holidays and prepare for autumn, but let’s take a moment to remember the past summer. How did the Dynaset’s people spend their summer? What kind of feelings did they have about the summer? What do they think about autumn?

Summer is a time for slowing down, taking it easy, and recharging batteries for the upcoming dark season. In Finland, people usually take summer holidays or have an extended weekends in summer. For Finns, a particularly important summer highlight is the midsummer celebration, midsummer. It is usually spent relaxing at the cottage or partying in the festival atmosphere. During the summer, Heli, who is responsible Dynaset’s human resources, planned to visit different cities’ castles.

– In the summer, I spent time with my friends and family doing nice things, for example spending Midsummer with my family at an amusement park. I’m interested in art exhibitions and museums, and almost every summer, I visit the Navistit art exhibitions in Iittala. As a special memory is our picnic trip to the Suomenlinna, said Heli.

Dynaset’s HR Specialist, Heli, spent her summer focusing on the important things.

– The best thing about summer is the increased light and warmth. Finnish nature is incredibly beautiful, especially in summer, and it’s lovely to enjoy both in the city and at the cottage. This summer, we finished the final construction work on our cottage, Heli continued.

Dynaset’s technical document specialist Joonas spends much time in nature. Also, during summer.

A technical document specialist, Joonas spent his summer in nature and fishing, sometimes playing the drums.

– In summer I fish a lot. For example, I travelled to the North by motorbike to fish. Midsummer, I spent my time in a boat. It is nice to spend time in nature in the summer, when the weather is good, and there is plenty of light. I photographed nature and moved in nature a lot. If I could decide, I could spend the summer at the cottage rather than in the city. I guess it was not a surprise, Joonas said.

Heli and Joonas think that ice cream is the best summer treat. Kalle, who works in the mechanics department, also agreed. Kalle’s was spent playing football and spending time with friends.

– I spent my summer vacation in August and had no specific plans for it, just a few spontaneous trips. The early summer was quickly spent playing football, which has been my hobby since I was five years old. I like to spend my summers both in the city and in the countryside in a cottage environment. However, the cottage wins because I spent midsummer in the countryside with my friends. Summer is a great time, when there’s so much light and energy, Kalle said.

It’s time to roll up your sleeves for the autumn challenges and new winds. Joonas plans to start a new hobby, fly fishing. The whole gang is especially looking forward to the fall colors and fresh autumn weather, although they think the summer could last longer. Finnish summers are short, so they should be enjoyed to the full.
